SELF-MASSAGE TECHNIQUES: TMJ MUSCLES
These 3 self massage techniques will allow you to continue your therapy at home between visits. Your pain or clicking may be due to tight muscles and by applying pressure you can reduce the muscle spasm and decrease pain in the area.
Perform each exercise as instructed by your treating practitioner. Typically 15-20 repetitions (about 30 seconds), 2x daily.
There should be minimal pain during these exercises. If pain increases, pause until you can speak with your treating therapist.
